Many people suffer from irritable, dry or rash-covered skin, often described as “eczema.” This condition is caused by a combination of genetic propensity for it as well as environmental factors – things in the environment that cause the skin irritation such as the weather, fabrics in clothing, and foods eaten. There are various medical options to help with eczema, but one option that is quickly growing in popularity due to its effectiveness and lack of side effects is hemp oil.

High quality broad spectrum hemp oil like we offer at NuGeneration XHP works wonderfully for reducing eczema and healing skin. Interestingly, it can be used in two different ways – topically (applied directly to the skin) and orally, in the form of drops placed under the tongue.

Oral Consumption

Hemp oil is extremely healthy when consumed orally. It contains high levels of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids, which are extremely healthy for the body and skin. These fatty acids are not created naturally by the body. They must be obtained from foods that are consumed. Hemp oil contains gamma-linolenic acid, which helps regulate hormones, and thus helps reduce skin irritation caused by excess hormones. Hemp oil also contains various vitamins and minerals that help improve blood flow to the skin. Consuming hemp oil orally it just really good for you, regardless of any problems you have with your skin. You should hold the hemp oil beneath your tongue for 30 – 60 seconds to allow it absorb into your body before swallowing.

Topical Use

The same solution you can consume orally can also be applied directly to the skin. Gently massaging hemp oil directly onto the skin will alleviate irritation. It has anti-inflammatory properties and is rich in antioxidants that help promote healthy skin. There are lotions available that contain hemp oil, but for the maximum benefit we recommend applying pure hemp oil directly to the skin. One recommended technique for your face is to apply the hemp oil and then apply a warm, wet wash cloth to your face for about a minute. You can also combine the hemp oil with what is called a “carrier oil,” which can be something like coconut oil or olive oil. Oily? Yes. But fantastic for the skin!

To receive maximum benefit, we recommend using hemp oil both orally and topically. It will not only improve the health of your skin, but your entire body. We recommend a dosage of 300 to 500mg for mild eczema, or 750 to 1200mg for more severe cases.
